Cyanide Circus, formerly Cyanide Suspension, is a sideshow performance team based in upstate South Carolina specializing in flesh hook suspension and other extreme acts. Cyanide Circus team members take performances to the next level with detailed character creation, storytelling, crowd interactions, and shocking sights.

What Is Flesh Hook Suspension?

Flesh hook suspension is an extreme form of body modification that can be seen in various cultures throughout history. Traditionally wood or animal bone would be used to pierce the skin and hang the individual from various parts of their body, but today we use sterile needles and steel hooks.  

Why Do We Do It?

Suspension is meant to be an individual experience. Everyone has a different reason that called them to try flesh hooks. Some individuals suspend for more traditional reasons such as meditation, to connect with their higher consciousness, spiritual practices, or as a rite of passage. Other individuals just find suspension fun, love body modification, and see it as an art form to be presented on stage. Then there are some that see it as all those things and so much more.
